Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have caused blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to water supplies, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, according to local officials.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and applying penalties," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were laboring to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

The attacks follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the national power system, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
