The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
